The Lake Forest Tennis Association had a board meeting on Feb. 19 at the Racquet Club. Present were Mike Abelin, Paul Wilson, Roger Kersch, Mitch Davis, Janice White, Judy McCrory, Richard Hall, Jane Funkhausier, Craig Wells, Susan Green. Old Business: We need to elect new officers for 2006. The following people were elected for 2006. Paul Wilson- President, Janice White-Vice President. Mitch Davis-Treasurer, Richard Hall-Secretary. Growing our Club: Several ideas were discussed. Roger suggested free tennis lessons for kids on Saturday given by the tennis club members. Free pizza for the kids would also be great. The possibility of advertising by some sort of media was discussed. This seemed like a good idea to promote Lake Forest tennis and to attract people to join our club. We all agreed that our next project will be to obtain enough dollars to purchase some advertising for Lake Forest Tennis. The need for a current list of members and non-menbers was discussed. We obtained a list at the end of last year but discovered that the list was not accurate. We hope the new computer system just purchased by Lake Forest will be able to generate a more accurate list of members. World Team Tennis organized by Marcia Stewart is now playing and BATA mixed also organized by Marcia is playing. Judy McCrory also said a new Sr. Women's USTA team has been organized and will start shortly. New Business: We are going to try and have a social on March 25. Paul and Janice will coordinate with Mike and get the signs posted. The social will start around 10am and will cost $10. If a member brings a guest then both will be free. We will finalize all details at our next meeting. Next meeting will be March 19 at the Lake Forest Racquet Club around 2pm. Paul will send out email reminders
