Thanks to y'all "adopt-a-median" volunteers for pitchin' in.  You are out there pickin" up trash, trimmin' and prunin'! Our community looks better and better!

Have you noticed the marquee above that's been scrolling across your screen for a number of weeks?  It is a message from some of the Garden Club folks to those people who you may have seen working in the medians here in Lake Forest.  Roger Davidson, a fairly new member of the Lake Forest community, brought up the Adopt-A-Median idea at an Improvement Committee meeting a while back.  Roger and Mrs. Davidson have been scouring the medians in a Lake Forest golf cart picking up trash, trimming, digging and all sorts of other things simply because they think it needs to be done.  They've asked for no pay, only to be allowed to work.  And, it is contagious.  Bill and Susan Green joined their efforts along with a whole bunch of Garden Club members, all working to make Lake Forest beautiful.   Now, Roger's made a deal with the City of Daphne Public Works Director, who has agreed to supply him with as much mulch as he wants.  Roger plans to pull his trailer throughout Lake Forest putting that mulch around all the plants in the median.

I was told about a wealthy business man who has a plaque in his office that says , 'Lead, Follow or Get Out of the Way". We have all sorts of people in Lake Forest who would like to be leaders.  These people are truly leaders, who lead by example in the right direction.  Our thanks go out to all of them.

I'm sure Roger and his posse would take all the help they can get.  If you would like to participate in the Adopt A Median project, just call the office at 626-0788 and leave your name and number.  One of these guys will call you.  You don't have to adopt a median.  You can simply join them sometime and help out for just a while.
