Lake Forest Christmas Decorating Contest - 2005

By the time you all read this Christmas will be a wonderful memory filled with family, friends and neighbors.  (Not when you check the web. ;) The Holiday Season, in spite of Katrina’s fury, allowed the residents of Lake Forest to spread wonderful Holiday Cheer by decorating their lawns, their houses, their doorways and roofs.  They chose to find joy and happiness after long hard days and weeks of cleaning up after Hurricane Katrina.  Thank you all. The Decorating Committee saw so many wonderful displays and as always it was very difficult to choose winners in the four categories. Listed below are the winners of the 2005 Lake Forest Decorating Contest:

LAWN DECORATION:

Kevin & Jamie Walls                  102 Kentwood Drive

HOUSE DECORATION:

Monte & Marie Sanders              145 Hope Circle

DOOR DECORATION:

Wayne Heil                               100 Dewitt Loop

MOST CREATIVE:

Richard & Margaret Adamson     104 Lively Circle

We would also like to thank the Golf Condominiums for the wonderful decorations they displayed throughout the complex, which borders the road to the Country Club. Each year it gets larger and larger and the community thanks you again.

The Decorating Contest is sponsored by the Lake Forest Garden Club each year and we, as a Club, would like to again thank each and every one of you who took the time to light candles, decorate trees, homes and lawns.  Without your effort our community would not be as bright and welcoming to all those who travel our roads. We encourage you to keep our Lake Forest alive with your enthusiasm, by decorating during the Holidays, planting flowers and trees and shrubs throughout the season and keeping our community neat and tidy, making it an example of a group of people living and working together to make their community a welcoming and safe harbor, to which we can anchor each night and feel safe.  Happy New Year to you all and thank you again on behalf of the Lake Forest Garden Club.
