We will be overseeding the tees, greens, and the areas around the greens, called surrounds.  Of course, with the overseeding, comes heavy watering.  The golf shop will inform the membership about the watering and the time that it occurs.  The seed will be spread on October 24, 2005.  The seed used on the greens is called Poa trivialis and it takes 4 – 7 days to germinate.  On the tees and the surrounds we are using a perennial rye grass which will take 4 days to germinate.    Of course, during the time of germination, all cart traffic must be reduced in the areas where the seed was dropped.  If the weather will cooperate with us and do its job, we will have wonderful conditions to play golf this winter and into next spring.
