Ken
Eslava announced at the stated board meeting tonight that the city has
received notice that the Alabama Department of Transportation has agreed to
put a redlight on highway 90 at the entrance to Lake Forest. Residents
have been pleading for such a light for months. Last year Mitch Davis,
President of the LFPOA, went before the Public Safety committee of Daphne to
ask for this light, a light at the intersection of highway 27 and Lawson Rd
and for re-paving of some streets in Lake Forest. The committee said
that neither of those intersections were the responsibility of the City.
Highway 90 is a State highway and Highway 27 is a Baldwin County road.
Mitch wrote to the Baldwin County Commission to ask for help on the Hwy 27
situation and members of the Public Safety Committee said that they would
ask the State to reconsider the light on Highway 90.
The decision is welcome news for Lake
Forest because with the increased traffic, it was only a matter of time
before there would be an accident at that intersection. No action has
been taken regarding the paving of streets in Lake Forest. |
