4TH Of JULY BOARD MEETING DECISION

The Lake Forest Board of Directors decided tonight not to host the 4th of July fireworks display at the Lake Forest Yacht Club in 2003. Instead they will ask the City of Daphne to host the display at their recreation center on the bay. Lake Forest will continue to provide financial support for the celebration and recreation activities will continue to be provided for Lake Forest members at the Yacht Club. The city location is close enough to allow for excellent viewing from the Lake Forest facility for members of the association. The primary reason given for the decision is the lack of adequate parking at the Lake Forest location. The large parking area that had been used for many years was lost when the new condominiums were built across from the Yacht Club. Most members on the board were in agreement that the 4th of July celebrations have been enjoyed by all in the community and hope that the city will agree to continue the celebration with Lake Forest support.
