J. Anthony Dees, C.P.A: I moved to Lake Forest from Mobile in December 1993. I am married with two daughters who attended Christ the King School and McGill-Toolen High School. They are now university graduates. They both participated in Lake Forest swim teams for several years. We were very involved in our children’s’ lives throughout the time they were at home but now my time is more available to work for Lake Forest in earnest.

I hope to bring my background in financial matters to the various opportunities Lake Forest has before it. Our location will be the center of Daphne in the future and I personally think our land is the most attractive on the eastern shore. We need to take advantage of these assets and also extend our influence with the City of Daphne

Mary Ann Hampton: My husband, Stewart, and I moved to Daphne in August 2008, for several reasons, not the least of which is that we were very impressed with the city through our visits with family who also live here. Having lived in an historic neighborhood for twenty-seven years previously, we liked the idea of being part of an attractive and diverse subdivision and were very happy to find a home in Lake Forest. We have been well-pleased by the area and delighted by our lovely neighbors.

I am a practicing attorney and also have an extensive business and real estate background. I was president of our historic neighborhood association for at least ten years and actively involved with several historic and community organizations in Tuscaloosa, representing the homeowners on many occasions before the city council, zoning board of adjustment, and other municipal agencies. I am very familiar with homeowners' associations and their bylaws, covenants, and restrictions and enforcement of same. I am particularly concerned with maintaining the integrity of Lake Forest so that it continues to be a beautiful, interesting area, offering amenities and activities for all. My profession, background, and experience qualify me to perform this service for my community.

Ronda Melton (Ronda J. Melton, CPA, MBA, PFS): My family and I came to the Eastern Shore in 2005 as a result of Hurricane Katrina. I was a first year law student at Loyola University in New Orleans. My husband, son, and I evacuated downtown, across from the Superdome, when the Hurricane made landfall. We were trapped there for six days when we were airlifted (via Blackhawk Helicopter) out to safety. After losing our home, jobs, and possessions, a friend from Spanish Fort took us in. Daphne and Spanish Fort helped us with open arms. The school system (Rockwell) took my son in without question or formality and the people of the area did everything in their power to help us, without our prompting. Within two months, we were back on our feet and are eternally grateful for the help we received from Daphne and Spanish Fort. We found an apartment in Daphne, and then moved to Lake Forest in June 2006. We fell in love with the community and I opted to continue my education at the University of South Alabama, which I received my Masters of Business Administration. I received my Bachelor’s in Accounting from the University of Southern Mississippi.

My husband is the IT specialist for Goodwill Easter Seals and my son is a Freshman at Daphne High School and participates in the IB program. I am a practicing CPA and the Daphne Branch Manager of Sirmon and Simmons, PC, a public accounting firm. I am a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Alabama Society of Public Accountants, and a volunteer at Covenant Hospice. I hope to put my financial and educational background to use for the community that did so much to help my family in our time of need. Thank you!

William Kent Menefee: I am very interested in running for a position on the Board of Directors. Lake Forest has been my home since June of 2004. My family and I made the decision to purchase a home in Lake Forest to ensure the stability of the family while I deployed for my last tour of duty in Iraq. If elected I would work hard to represent the hard working families that have chosen Lake Forest as their home. I have two daughters that attend Daphne Elementary (North). Anna is in third grade and Emily is in kindergarten. Anna swam with the Lake Forest swim team this year and Emily is looking forward to next year’s team.

I served my country for 20 years in the US Army, Infantry. While I served, I held the positions of rifleman, team leader, squad leader, platoon sergeant, drill sergeant, senior drill sergeant, and first sergeant. I have deployed to Panama (Operation Just Cause), Saudi Arabia (Desert shield/Storm), Saudi Arabia again (Operation Falcon), Iraq (Operation Iraqi freedom 1), and Iraq again (Operation Iraqi freedom 3). I retired from active duty in May of 2006.

After retiring my family and I decided that I should continue to serve my community. I applied to the Daphne Police Department in May of 2007 and was hired in April of 2008. Since becoming an Officer I have attended the Mobile Police Academy and have enrolled in college. I hope to earn a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice.

My family and I love Lake Forest, Daphne, and the Eastern Shore. I know that with the right Leadership our community will continue to provide a safe and healthy environment to live and raise our families. Remembering our history while continuing to remain focused on the future will maintain our solid and steady path into a bright future.

Jim Moss: My wife Edna and I chose the Community of Lake Forest as our retirement home in 2005 over any other residential community in Baldwin County. I feel as though I would be an excellent choice to serve on the Lake Forest Board of Directors because of my successful background in business and a lifetime spent actively involved with community service. As General Manager of Operations of a Division of Dresser Industries, I skillfully managed multi-million dollar projects from concept to completion. Two-Way communication skills proved invaluable during my tenure as a businessman and as a community leader.

I have served as President of the Communications committee, and was President of the Greens committee when the new greens were purchased and installed as well as a key member of the New Entrance and Internal Sign groups. It took the efforts of many people, too many to name here, working together to make Lake Forest a better place to live. I want to thank them all for their hard work. I believe strongly that success rests in the ability of the Lake Forest Board of Directors to implement ideas from the membership. I would be honored to have your vote and support.

Kay Ponder: Mrs. Ponder, who lives on Wedgewood Drive, has a primary goal for Lake Forest by continuing to improve communication between the Lake Forest Board and the property owners of Lake Forest. She plans to work with everyone to implement a plan to restore the Lake Forest community and its amenities to an impressive state.

Educated at Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, she focused on marketing. She also attended Troy State University in Troy, Alabama. At the present time, Kay is Floor Supervisor for Bassett Furniture in Spanish Fort where she supports the general manager in employee supervision, adherence to general guidelines, and customer service. She also aids customers with furniture and design.

Larry Rozolsky: Hello, Joan and I moved to the Lake Forest community in March when my employment to us from Lake Forest, CA to Louisiana and then to Mississippi. We found our house by getting “lost” and turning into a street when a sigh said, “Lake Forest”. Went through a worm hole which took us back to California! I have been in construction since 1977 and worked almost every trade in the carpentry field. In 1994, after 8 months of earthquake adjustment inspections for FEMA in Northridge, CA, I was employed in the management side of construction. I have been a Project Coordinator, Superintendent, Estimator and various positions within the construction fields. My most recent positions have been as a Quality Control Engineer and Certified Storm Water Management Inspector through the State of Florida, with one of the most stringent requirements to prevent silt into their streams, rivers, and run-off into the Gulf.

I am running for a position on the Lake Forest Homeowners Association Board to assist our neighborhood in being the shining diamond of Daphne. I ask for your support by voting for me.

Dean Watson: I am interested in a position on the Lake Forest Board of Directors. I am confident that my work experiences, educational background and personal skills can be put to valuable use within our subdivision. My management experience will make me an immediate asset and allow me to contribute directly to Lake Forest Goals. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to show how my qualifications and abilities can benefit Lake Forest. Please consider me for a position as a Lake Forest Board Member.
