November 10, 2004 Board member, Ken Eslava, submitted his resignation from the Lake Forest Board of Directors last week. Citing time conflicts, Ken said that he intends to continue working closely with the Board in his capacity as Public Works Director for the City of Daphne. We wish Ken success in the future and look forward to working with him on issues important to the community again soon. In other action, the Board of Directors voted to appoint Willie Robison and Ray Drake to fill positions left vacant recently by the resignations of Ken Eslava and John Deloney. Voting in favor of the appointments were Mitch Davis, Ed Kirby, Sarah Coxwell, Bryce Cocke and Carl Kauffman. Voting against the appointments citing procedural grounds were Bob Underwood and Henry Lawson. Willie will be serving as chair of the Greens Committee and Ray will be working with Mitch Davis on the Food & Beverage Committee. Board members, who are appointed to fill vacant slots, serve until the next annual meeting at which time the membership will vote for candidates to complete the term or start a new term if this is the last year of the current term. John Deloney and Ken Eslava were in the last year of their three year term, so the membership will be voting for members to start new three year terms at these positions next October. The appointed members may run for those positions next year, if they choose. There were other members who volunteered to serve but only two positions were available. The Board hopes that those members will be willing to serve the community in some other capacity such as participating on one of the committees that deal with issues in Lake Forest. |
