Neighbor Helping Neighbor |
|
It has been suggested to me that we try running a column in the Spectrum wherein Lake Forest residents who see an area of our community that could use improvement could ask others to help them with the work. In doing so we could get satisfaction from improving Lake Forest and meet new friends in the process. A few ideas mentioned for thought include painting playground equipment, repairing basket ball goals, helping clean up areas around the pools, golf courses and roadway medians. I am sure that our readers can think of others that they would like help in tackling. The Garden Club, which keeps our entrances so great looking, is always ready to welcome new members.
If you have a project you want help in undertaking, write to “Neighbor Helping Neighbor” and send/bring it to the LFPOA office or e-mail to Lake Forest Yacht & Country Club. You may also go to the website at www.lfpoa.com and submit the information with the "Suggestion Box" button. Please state your name, the intended project, and a way for volunteers to contact you. We will collect and publish your ideas both in the Spectrum and on our web site. We can try to run photographs of the projects to additionally encourage people to volunteer.
This is not a “Somebody should do something about...” column, but one where you have a project and want to meet with people interested in helping out. Nor will it be open to commercial ventures.
Lets try to get together and improve our community.
