 The Lake Forest Property Owner’s Association Board of Directors hosted a reception today for the four recipients of the first Lake Forest Scholarship Awards.

Earlier this year the Board agreed to recognize the academic accomplishments of some our young people by providing several scholarships to help further their education.  The new scholarships were publicized and applications were requested and submitted by eleven students from Lake Forest.  A scholarship committee made up of members of the association was assigned the task of evaluating the applications and making the final selections.  The committee recommended that the awards go to Jessica Morgan, Emily Webster, Laura Wilkins and Emily Cordon, all of Daphne High School.   

The presentation of the scholarships was made by Board President Malcolm McPhee.  In addition to the students and their families, there were other members of the Board present as well as representatives of the Lake Forest Women's Club, Lake Forest Garden Club, Lake Forest Tennis Association, and the general manager, Mr. Jake Bodiford.  Miss Morgan and Miss Webster received scholarships of $1,000 each and Miss Wilkins and Miss Cordon each received awards of $500. 

   The new Scholarship program has been well received by most of the members of the association and it is the hope of many that they will continue for many years to come.
