Amenity Survey Results

At the request of a member of the Board of Directors a survey was put on the site asking members for information about their usage of the amenities and opinions on the state of some of the facilities.  At the time of the information below nineteen submissions had been made.  In the past, we have had little success with surveys, so the interest in this one has been encouraging.  The reader should keep in mind that those who have participated represent a segment of our membership that has a better than average interest in the state of Lake Forest.  They are also more technically savvy than most or they would not be checking the web for their information.  Because the study group is small, little inference can made based on the results.

There were a couple of interesting findings.  Notice that 100% of those surveyed said that they played golf on the lake 9 golf course.  Aren't we glad we didn't give it to Faulkner State last year?  At $5 for two rounds, the lake 9 has become a favorite of our members, especially those of us who are not diehard golfers.  Another interesting bit of information is that 79% of those surveyed said that they used the Lake Forest Yacht Club.   It was second only to the Lake 9 in popularity.  It seems that our members who care would want to keep the Yacht Club.

Quality of the Amenities

Below is a summary of the responses we received about the quality of the amenities  The values that you see under the headings of Poor, Fair, Good & Great represent a calculation of the data submitted by those members that indicated an opinion.  If the No Opinion button was checked, that submission was not included in the calculation.  Therefore, for the most part what you see is the summary of opinions of the members who actually use the amenity in question. 

We did have one submission that said he/she did not use the Yacht Club or marina, but still rated them very low.   The reason we asked if the contributor used each amenity was to validate the individual's answers to the questions about quality.  We only had one out of nineteen responses where an opinion was given about an amenity that the person said they did not use. 

Some conclusions are easily drawn from the table.  For example, it appears that the golf professional is well respected by those who use the two golf courses.  That is because there were a reasonable number of members who had an opinion.  There were some other questions that will not be as easy to evaluate, because most of the contributors selected No Opinion.  For example, the harbor master question cannot tell us much since almost everyone said they did not have an opinion.  Therefore, one or two members with issues about the individual can skew the results.  Questions about the Racquet Club also had a large number of No Opinions.
